Fearless Guide

Synchronized Diving

The Big Plunge

Woefully Negligent

In the light of my inability to keep a steady flow of recent pictures on the blog, I am going to have to resort to a practice which I do not necessarily approve of. I will be posting pictures of our Canada fishing trip (August) with current pictures (September). So, if you are hearing about our studies, but seeing pictures of great sunsets, fish, and nature - don't be confused!

Bible Study

Ps. 119:9-11,105
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
11 I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.

II Tim. 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

This implies that
a. God gave His Word for a purpose
b. And His Word must therefore be knowable

How are we doing at studying it out?

Camping in Canada

Instruments in the Redeemer's hands

"If you understand the story of redemption, you know that God does not
seem to be in the fearful hurry that often drives our effort to help
others. Following his example means that we can take the time to ask,
listen, think, interpret, and pray."

Our summer was a blurr....

Grotzke Update 9/1

Travel Status - We are settled! I know, it was a surprise to us as well, but we are in. We now are living in a town home in Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis about 15 minutes from Central Theological Seminary. Both of us are attending school and carrying full loads. Seth is beginning his Masters of Divinity and Crystal her MATBC (Masters of Arts in Theology with a concentration in Biblical Counseling). We have finished our first week of classes and are looking forward to a great semester. Seth was also called to be the Assistant Pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Eden Prairie under Pastor Don Odens. We are very excited to work under such a godly man and to have the opportunity to use what we are learning at Central.
Future Schedule - Read. After receiving our syllabi for classes we realize that most of our time will be spent on this! Seth will be focusing on the youth at Liberty, and many Sunday School lessons, activities, and retreats are in the works. Crystal is currently interviewing for a possible job translating at hospitals.
Prayer Requests - Please pray that 1. our studies will not distract us from spending time with our Savior, but will drive us to Him. 2. We will be able to minister effectively at Liberty. 3. God will provide the needed funds for school.
The Minneapolis Side - We awoke the other night around midnight to blue and red flashing lights coming through our bedroom window and the sounds of a police radio barking out orders. We staggered out of bed to the shouts of "Put the gun down!... Get down!... We got him!... Were there more?..." As we stood in our living room we watched out the window as four police officers arrested a man in our front yard. The two squad cars parked on our lawn and others nearby kept our house well lit for several minutes and then the pulled out and headed off. From there we were lullabied into a fitful sleep by sirens, traffic, and other miscellaneous night noises. And you wondered if we would be safe in Peru!
Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3:8)
