13/11 Update

Travel Status - Well, it has been a while since our last update, and plenty has happened! We just got back on Sunday morning from Cusco where we spent 2 1/2 weeks. The first few days were spent in our final "Escuela Misionera" (Missionary School) for the Peruvian mission board MEBIP. We were able to meet more missionaries, visit several different churches, and learn much more about the needs throughout Peru. We then spent the following two weeks in Urubamba (1 hour from Cusco). Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries are working at a seminary, radio station and several churches there. Seth was able to speak for a week of the chapel services, Crystal gave the devotionals for the girls each night for over a week, and Pastor Evelio taught a class on the book of Hebrews. We were able to see a great need for personal discipleship in the lives of the students over and beyond the normal classes. God has impressed on us the need for one on one training and discipleship to "present everyone mature in Christ" (Col.1:28).
Future Schedule - We are going to be around Lima for the next few weeks. These weeks will include Bible studies, special meetings, regular services, Spanish classes, and one on one discipleship times.
Prayer Requests - Please pray #1 as Paul prayed in Col. 1:9-12, that we may be filled with the knowledge of His will, so we may please Him, to be fruitful, increasing in knowledge, and strengthened by His power to be patient and thankful. Also #2 that we will be constantly living in light of the fact that people are more important than programs.
The Peru Side - "Spiritual Fatness" - Here is a brief recounting of a ladies fellowship that Crystal visited. One woman was picked at random to go in front of the group of women, while others in the crowd of 25-30 women said nice things about her. The final "encouraging comment" went something like this: "I am really thankful for you because you are a lot fatter than most of us, but you still are active. Even in your fatness, you are more active than some of us skinny people. You don't let your fatness slow you down. Not only are you physically fat, you are also spiritually fat. Your spiritual fatness is really an encouragement to us."
