*How do most get around between towns?
A: Most transportation is done through the extensive bus system. Lima alone has thousands of buses running throughout the city. One can get on a bus and get about anywhere in the city of over nine million people for the equivalent of 70 cents. Taxis are also prevalent, and easy to use. When traveling throughout Peru, many bus companies are available. One may opt to go cheap and ride in rickety buses, with no definite schedule (and the possibility of sharing a seat with a random farm animal or two), or to the other extreme of plush leather seats/beds with meals and movies. When planning a trip that could take 26 hours, choose carefully!
