Malachi 2:17-3:6
Why doesn't God intervene to prevent injustice-and to punish evil?
Is. 43:24 -he is wearied by their iniquities
Truth to take home -
I. God's judgment is certain!
Death is certain (Heb. 9:27) taxes are certain, and His coming is
certain.
A. Christ may come at any time
B. When he returns to earth, Christ will come to judge.
II. God's judgment will be severe!
A. He will destoy everyone who does not belong to him (vs. 2; cf. Rev.
6:17; Matt. 24:50-51; 25:30,41,46)
B. He will purify the nation of Israel (vs. 2-5; cf. Matt. 24:30-31)
III. Any delay is due to God's patience-His longsuffering (vs 6; cf.
James 1:17; Heb. 13:8; 2 Peter 3:3,8-9)
