Be Real - "Why?"

"So, how would taking a different view of God affect the way we live our lives? If you fail to see God as deserving all the glory, you will soon become your own god. You will exchange the true God for yourself. Because all things are from Him, and through Him, and to Him we must live completely for Him. We must be real."

Be Real - What it does not mean

We do not need any more burden-passers (Matt. 23:4), ego strokers (23:5), heavenly door-slammers (23:13), hypocrites (23:15), convert-killers (23:15), blind guides (23:16), blind fools (23:17), penny counters (23:23), spirit of the law neglecters (23:23), gnat straining camel swallowers (23:23), inwardly rotting surface cleaners (23:25), whitewashed tombs of dead people’s bones (23:27), prophet killing tomb decorators (23:29), serpents and vipers (23:33).

In the midst of winter...

One Sunday morning, a mother went in to wake her son and
tell him it was time to get ready for church, to which he
replied, 'I'm not going.'
'Why not?' she asked.
I'll give you two good reasons,' he said. '(1),
they don't like me, and (2), I don't like them.'

His mother replied, 'I'll give YOU two good reasons
why YOU SHOULD go to church.
(1) You're 59 years old, and (2) you're the
pastor!'

Pilgrim's Progress

At the end of this past summer, one of the families in our church organized a church wide walk through of the Pilgrim's Progress story. During the summer months, the DeLeon family had worked through the book so the kids knew the story well. On the special night, the kids brought their backpacks full of heavy "sin" and followed Pilgrims footsteps through his journey. It was a great teaching lesson for the kids! The teens also participated in the event by being the various people that Pilgrim meets along the way.

At the Gate.

The Giant Despair chases them through his dungeon.
Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3:8)
