Moooooooving!

Well, we said a while back that we would give the details of our mooooving process. Here they are! We were supposed to close on a townhouse on July 10th so we packed up and were ready to move. On the afternoon of the 9th we received a call from our realtor saying the bank had called and said there were title problems and that we would not be closing the next day. (We eventually found out that there had been a double mortgage. The first one was foreclosed on while the second one was not.) Hmmm….but at least the worst case scenario was that it would take an extra month to get in, or so we thought. We were able to extend our stay in our rental place for a week so that Grandpa and Loretta who were visiting from AZ and Cody who was visiting from Peru could stay with us as previously planned! We moved our belongings except for a bag of clothes into the garage of the place that we were supposed to be buying and took off on a trip to Kentucky, thinking that all would be ready when we returned. Well, to make a long story short, things weren't resolved and we ended up staying in our Pastor's basement..…for over five weeks! Seth called and talked to many different people, and we finally said that we needed to be out of the deal by Friday, August 28 since we would be starting teaching and classes at school. We gave up on the house and started talking ourselves into thinking that moving into an apartment was what God wanted for our lives and that it would be so much better. We looked into apartments and finally found one we liked and decided that we would look at it and put in applications on Thursday, since there was "no possible way" that the house could work out since there was still no movement on anything. We applied at the apartment and we were ready to move in the next week. Friday noon came and we had basically forgotten about the house when we received a message from our realtor saying that we needed to call him back as soon as possible. We called and listened in disbelief as he said it was a done deal and we could close on Monday! We really didn't know what to do then as we had been talking ourselves out of it. We prayed about it and sought advice and then decided that it would be the best thing to do. So, this past Monday, we signed and were able to move into our new place! We are so excited and we are truly thankful for God's provision. We are very close to church! We have learned much this summer, and one of the big lessons has been that God's timing is not ours. He has a much different calendar that we do. We thank Him for the stretching in our lives and the difficulties this summer, and we thank Him for His control in all situations!
