We took Heather up to the cross above Musa. Quite the hike! We wanted to give her a bird's eye view of the surrounding area. The reason there is a cross on the mountain above Musa is to give the people of Musa more favor with God. Each year the "religious" inhabitants of Musa climb the mountain to the cross during Holy Week, and have a good ol' time. They party, drink, smoke, and whatever else they really want to do, then clean the cross, repent and go to church on Easter. This then absolves them from their sin of the previous year.
We look to I Corinthians 1:18 when we see the cross. "For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Glory be to God!
